Matthew Jane has a fun day with gadgets galore at this years BETT show

Every boy dreams of being James Bond for a day. The suave manners, the glamorous ladies, the fine dining, and above all, the amazing gadgets.

At the BETT show in London's Olympia I was able to quench my thirst for some of my Bond urges by indulging in some gadgetry of my own.

Hand-held devices that perform a world of tasks, projectors that stretch widescreen images onto a wall just a few feet away and computers that could fit into the smallest of spaces are just the tip of the iceberg.

There are also touch-screen tables that look as though they have been lifted straight from the scenes of Minority Report.

With such a wealth of technology on display it was exciting to consider the possibilities they could have to children. There was a gadget on display for every age range, in every subject and for every ability.

As I sat in the bar after the show with my vodka martini I could not help but be impressed by what I had seen. The current generation are truly fortunate to have such possibilities bestowed upon them, the future certainly looks exciting and intriguing.

And of course, the child in me was just pleased to be thrown into a gadget heaven - or dare I say - 00 heaven?!
