Plane speaking

Innovative use of space and a great photo to cheer you up for the Easter break

With fears over funding and building crises, it feels as though education news has been more gloomy than usual of late, so I was very pleased to read a story which made me smile for many reasons.

The picture of a plane being lowered into a school playground (above) caused many of my colleagues to say "Oh no! What happened", inevitably followed by "That's really cool,' after I explained that in fact the plane will be used as a classroom by lucky pupils at Kingsland Primary School in Bucknall, Stoke-on-Trent.

And I just love the creative use of space; the pupil input (using the plane was the idea of a Yr 6 pupil) and the positive message of this story. I'm already on the case to try and visit the school when the classroom is set up, so keep your eyes peeled on future issues of Ed Exec to find out how this wonderful idea comes to life.

On this positive note, I hope you all have a great Easter weekend!

Does your school have an unusual classroom space? Let us know, we'd love to profile your work.
