Matthew Jane finds out how to make the most of your whiteboards

Most schools now have them in their full glory at the front of the classroom, but how much do schools optimise the use of their interactive whiteboards.

At a press briefing day at the headquarters of Promethean in Reading, I was treated to a working demonstration of whiteboard gadgets, additions and resources.

Speaking as a person who still remembers blackboards and chalk, the innovations in interactive learning appear to be advancing in leaps and bounds.

Listening to a former teacher from Sunderland who was leading the demonstration, it was interesting to note how this equipment can be used to enhance the learning experiences of pupils.

The possibilities for a truly interactive classroom are vast and it will inevitably fall to the school business manager to facilitate these investments in schools. Keep an eye out for an Education Executive look at making the most of your whiteboard in October.
