Building Future Education (BFE) UK

Business Design Centre, Islington, London

Date(s): 09/05/2012 to 10/05/2012 (2 Day Event)

A new event for 2012, Building Future Education (BFE) UK, will combine the best of BSEC (Building Schools Education and Conference) and Remodelling Education Spaces.

This new two-day event will be the only dedicated event for the education built environment sector in the UK and will take place at the Business Design Centre, London from 9 to 10 May 2012. The event incorporates a high-level paid for conference and a free to attend exhibition.

The reasoning behind this new event includes the significant shift of focus from new buildings to refurbishment in the education sector over the past 12 months following changes in government policy and funding. This has had a dramatic impact on the needs of the industry and those working in education from a dedicated event for the education built environment.

Samuel Jennings, event director for BFE UK 2012, said: "The needs of the industry have changed drastically over the past year and we are all eagerly awaiting the government's response to the James Review to help understand their priorities and funding for education buildings.

"In response to these industry developments, we have taken the decision to rename the event to Building Future Education, or BFE UK, which will incorporate the best of BSEC and Remodelling Education Spaces.

"We're very excited to be announcing BFE UK 2012 today and look forward to creating a stimulating forum to help the industry and those working in education to meet the challenges of improving and expanding our education buildings."

BFE UK 2012 will provide a platform for debate for all key stakeholders in this sector, including school leaders, who can find out how to approach the new responsibilities they face in terms of school build and maintenance.

BFE UK 2012 will also continue to be the event of choice for Partnerships for Schools. With additional support from the built environment sector, this event will help provide practical solutions for building projects and showcase the latest products and developments. Lead sponsors for the first BFE UK 2012 include BAM, Capita Symonds, Carillion and Graham Construction.
