The higher education white paper, ‘Students at the heart of the system' (published June 2011), presents further and higher education institutes with the increasingly difficult task of attracting suitable candidates and providing an enhanced student experience during times of widespread negative tuition fee perceptions and a rapidly growing higher education market.
With 2011/2012 UCAS admission figures pointing to an uncertain future for student demand, it has become essential that education institutions capitalise on developing strategic communications campaigns that successfully promote their individual academic capabilities, as well as campus facilities, that enable them to be differentiated from domestic and international competition.
By adopting new communication channels and promotional strategies, universities and colleges can begin to combat the mounting difficulty of satisfying a more demanding and differentiated student population at times of reduced education funding.
With this in mind, Inside Government is running a new 'Marketing in Higher Education' forum, taking place on Thursday, 9 February 2012.
