New website helps parent raise money for schools

A new community-based website is offering parents a new way to raise money for their child's school.

Mygyko.com (based on an acronym for ‘get your kit on') is a new free website parents can use to sell, give away or swap their child's unwanted school items, like uniforms or sports equipment. For every item listed, 50p will go to their child's school - earning both parties some extra cash.

The majority of schools in the UK are already listed, so all parents need to do is register their own personal account under a school.

Schools need do nothing to earn the extra cash but suggest the website to parents and cheques will be sent out on a termly basis.

GYKO will pay a maximum of £200 per school per term with each parent listing a maximum of 20 items.
