Parents are campaigning against the merger of two schools in Brighton.
Brighton and Hove Council has announced plans to merge two high-performing schools, St Luke's Infant and St Luke's Junior.
Parents have set up an action group, St Luke's Against Merger (SLAM), to campaign against the move.
Paul Hendrick, a member of the group claims "if it aint broke, don't fix it".
Hendrick says that after the school was given an ‘outstanding' report from Ofsted so there is no reasons to merge the schools.
He also says that it is putting cost-cutting ahead of children, and the fact that the school would be scheduled to open in September 2009, would only allow for four months of planning for the scheme.
