Teachers will not strike again this year, after a close ballot.
NUT leaders decided against a rolling programme of industrial action despite a narrow vote in favour of one.
Schools were disrupted in April by mass walk-outs of NUT members.
In the latest ballot, 51.7 per cent of voters were in favour of a strike, after their current pay deal was deemed unworkable as a result of inflation.
Other teaching unions were not in support of the strike.
