Factsheet to reduce bullying

Advice on reducing bullying problems in toilets

A factsheet has been released to prevent bullying in school toilets.

In time for Anti-Bullying Week, the factsheet will aim to reduce the amount of bullying in toilets, a renowned hotspot for bullying to take place.

Among some of the top-tips on the website are: arranging toilets in small blocks; placing them in visible corridors; using blurred glass cubicles; and unisex hand-washing facilities.

Jean Donovan, Wallgate's business development executive who produced the factsheet, said: "Bullying and anti social behaviour in toilets continues to cause headaches for pupils, parents, teachers and governors in local schools.
We believe there is a lot more which could be done to "design out"
bullying and vandalism."

"This free factsheet is designed to bring together the specialist knowledge which we have developed and help schools to make the right decisions when planning new school toilets and washrooms."

The factsheet entitled, Reducing the impact of bullying and anti-social behaviour in school toilets and washrooms, can be obtained through www.wallgate.com
